A pair of grinding burrs is the heart of any commercial coffee grinder. Two hardened metal discs, one fixed and one rotating, shear coffee beans into uniform particles. The size and shape of the particles determine extraction speed and flavour clarity. These SAECO burrs are cut to the exact profile required by the grinders they fit, ensuring consistent grind size without overheating the beans.
To replace the burrs, the operator first unplugs the grinder and removes the hopper. The upper burr is lifted out, the lower burr unscrewed, and the new pair installed in reverse order. The grinder is then reassembled, the grind setting recalibrated, and a test shot pulled to confirm particle size.
The burrs are precision-ground from high-carbon tool steel, chosen for its wear resistance and ability to hold a sharp edge through thousands of kilograms of coffee. No coatings or surface treatments are applied; the raw steel profile is what shears the beans.
These burrs fit a wide range of professional grinders and grinder-dispensers from Astoria CMA, Coffee Queen, Crem, Cunill and Expobar. The list of compatible models includes the Cunill Brasil, Colombia, Marfil, Space and Tauro series, as well as the Astoria Grinder-Dispenser C and the Expobar Coffee-Grinder-Kit. Each model uses the same burr geometry, so the pair is a direct replacement.
In the catalogue, the product is grouped with grinder spare parts, under the heading of wear components for coffee preparation.
