for boiler vibration pump
An expansion valve controls the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator coil of a commercial espresso machine. As hot pressurised liquid passes through the narrow orifice, it expands into a cold gas, dropping the temperature of the coil. This cold coil then chills the water that will brew the espresso, keeping the extraction at the precise temperature the beans require. Without the valve, the refrigerant would flood the coil unevenly, producing fluctuating brew temperatures and inconsistent shots.
To replace the valve, the machine is first unplugged and the outer panels removed. The refrigerant lines are carefully disconnected from the old valve, taking care not to lose any remaining gas. The new SAECO expansion valve is fitted into the same position, ensuring the 1/8" male thread seals tightly against the mating port. Refrigerant lines are reconnected, the system is pressure-tested for leaks, and the panels are refitted. Once power is restored, the machine runs a short cooling cycle to stabilise the new valve before espresso production resumes.
The valve body is machined to a 16 bar rating, matching the pressure the refrigerant reaches inside the sealed circuit. The 1/8" male thread follows the standardised port size used across the listed Saeco, Gaggia and Spidem models, allowing direct replacement without adapters. Because the valve is a sealed component, it is not field-serviceable; if it fails, the entire unit is swapped.
This expansion valve fits the specified Saeco, Gaggia and Spidem espresso machines and vending units only. Before ordering, check the model number against the compatibility list to ensure the correct part is selected.
