A perforated polycarbonate container built to the GN 1/2 standard holds food while allowing air to circulate around it. The pattern of small holes in the base and sides prevents condensation from collecting, keeping ingredients drier and extending their safe storage time. Because the container is open to the air, it is used for short-term holding, transport between preparation stages, or as a drip tray under larger vessels. The operator loads the container with prepared food, stacks it on a compatible rack or trolley, and moves it to the next station. When the container is no longer needed, it is emptied, washed and stored. Polycarbonate is lightweight, so the container can be lifted and carried with one hand even when full. The container is made of clear polycarbonate, which lets the contents be seen without opening it. The material is rigid enough to hold its shape under load, yet flexible enough to absorb knocks without cracking. The base and walls are perforated with evenly spaced holes, while the rim remains solid for strength and to protect stacked containers from damage. The dimensions 325 by 265 by 130 millimetres match the GN 1/2 gastronorm standard, so the container fits standardised racks, trolleys and workstations. The 7.8 litre volume gives enough space for a single batch of ingredients or a portion of prepared food without overloading the container or the operator. The perforated base lets water drain instantly so food stays dry and crisp during chilling or transport. Polycarbonate can be washed in a commercial dishwasher or by hand with a non-abrasive brush and mild detergent. The perforations allow water to drain quickly, so the container dries faster than a solid one. After washing, the container is stored on a rack or shelf, where the perforations let air circulate and prevent moisture from being trapped.
