A food transport container built to keep ingredients secure and organised during movement between kitchen stations or off-site service. The unit holds bulk items without spilling, while the tight-fitting lid seals in freshness and prevents contamination from dust or splashes. Handles with ventilation holes allow moisture to escape after cleaning, reducing the risk of trapped water that can harbour bacteria or cause odours over time.
The container is designed around the gastronorm system, accepting standard GN 2 x 1/1 200 trays that slot in and out without jamming. This compatibility lets operators transfer prepped food directly from prep tables to the container, then into holding fridges or delivery vehicles without repacking. The polyethylene construction resists impacts and temperature swings, so the container does not crack under the weight of stacked trays or warp when moved from a chilled lorry into a warm kitchen.
To use, load the GN trays into the container, ensuring they sit level on the internal ledges. Press the lid down until it clicks into place, creating a seal that keeps contents stable during transport. The handles fold flat against the sides for compact storage when empty, then lift for a secure grip when carrying. After service, remove the lid and trays, then wash the container in a commercial dishwasher or by hand with standard kitchen detergents.
The footprint of 440 mm by 710 mm fits on standard worktops and in most delivery vans, while the 270 mm height allows stacking of two containers without exceeding typical shelf clearances. The 53 litre volume holds two full GN 1/1 trays, making it suitable for batch transport of sauces, prepped vegetables, or plated components between central kitchens and satellite sites.
Cleaning involves rinsing off food debris, then running the container through a dishwasher cycle or scrubbing with a non-abrasive brush. The polyethylene surface does not absorb stains or odours, so repeated washing does not degrade the material. After drying, store the container with the lid off to allow any residual moisture to evaporate through the handle holes.
