A glassware rack organises delicate items so they stay separated and supported while a commercial dishwasher cleans them. The rack sits inside the dishwasher, replacing the standard plate rack when glassware is loaded. Its open grid allows water and detergent to reach every surface, while the individual slots or pegs prevent glasses from knocking together and breaking. Because the glasses stand upright, water drains off quickly and evenly, reducing spotting and drying time.
To use the rack, the operator removes the standard plate rack from the dishwasher and slides the glassware rack into the same runners. Glasses are placed stem-down into the designated slots or over the pegs, ensuring they do not touch one another. Once loaded, the dishwasher door is closed and the cleaning programme started. After the cycle finishes, the rack is removed and the glasses are taken out, ready for immediate use or storage.
The Stalgast 810501 rack is built to fit dishwashers with a 500 by 500 mm internal basket size. Its construction is a grid of coated wire, chosen for durability and resistance to corrosion in the hot, wet environment of a commercial dishwasher. The coating prevents metal marks on glassware and extends the life of the rack.
The 500 by 500 mm footprint matches the standard basket size of many professional dishwashers, allowing the rack to slide into the existing runners without modification. The 100 mm height is low enough to clear the spray arms of most 500 mm machines, ensuring water reaches every glass.
Cleaning the rack itself is straightforward: after each use it is rinsed under a tap to remove detergent residue, then left to air-dry before the next load. The coated wire does not rust, so no special treatment is needed beyond regular rinsing.
