A chilled display case that keeps sandwiches, drinks and pastries at a steady 2 to 10 °C while letting customers serve themselves. The refrigeration unit is mounted separately, up to 2 metres away, so the case can sit on any worktop without the compressor taking up space underneath or making noise where staff and customers stand.

The cooling system draws heat from the case and releases it through the remote unit. A fan inside the unit moves air across the condenser coil, pulling heat out of the refrigerant and expelling it into the room. Because the unit is outside the display, the case itself stays quieter and cooler, and the refrigeration cycle runs more efficiently when the unit is placed in a well-ventilated spot. Static cooling circulates cold air gently, so delicate pastries and filled rolls stay fresh without drying out or losing their texture.

The operator loads the shelves through the open front, arranges the food, and closes the sliding glass doors. An electronic control panel on the side sets the target temperature between 2 and 10 °C. Once the temperature is chosen, the system runs automatically: the compressor in the remote unit starts and stops as needed, and a defrost cycle melts any frost on the evaporator coil without manual intervention. LED strips inside the case light the shelves evenly, making the food look bright and appealing.

The case is built from stainless steel with double-glazed tempered glass on the front and sides. Two fixed glass shelves inside give two levels for food. The remote refrigeration unit is connected by flexible refrigerant lines that can be detached and reattached, so the case can be moved or serviced without emptying it.

A power rating of 0.22 kW shows the electrical load the unit places on the circuit. The 230 V single-phase supply matches the standard socket found in most professional kitchens.
