Temperature mode + 2 / + 6 SERVE OVER
This refrigerated serve-over showcase is designed to keep chilled food visible and at a consistent low temperature. It removes heat from the display area using a cooling coil and distributes cold air evenly across the shelves. A fan ensures air circulation, preventing warm spots and maintaining a safe temperature for all items. The glass front and sides allow customers to view products without opening the cabinet, minimising temperature fluctuations and energy consumption. Internal LED lighting brightens the shelves, enhancing the appearance of food with cool, even illumination that does not add heat to the display space.
The unit can be placed on a level worktop or installed as a drop-in model by removing the front panel. Load the two height-adjustable shelves with items like sandwiches, drinks, or confectionery, ensuring proper airflow around them. Set the electronic control to the desired temperature between +2 °C and +6 °C; the display shows both the target and current internal temperature. Automatic defrosting melts any ice on the coil and evaporates the water, eliminating the need for manual draining. Once stabilised, the showcase operates continuously, keeping food chilled while the LED lights remain on to highlight products.
Constructed from stainless steel, the unit is durable and easy to clean in a busy kitchen environment. Each of the two shelves features its own LED strip, providing cool white light across the full width. A rear mirror creates the illusion of a deeper, more abundant display. The cooling system uses a fan to circulate air across the coil and back into the cabinet, ensuring an even temperature throughout. The electronic control box is positioned at the front for easy access to settings and temperature readings.
With a power rating of 0.42 kW, the showcase connects to a standard electrical outlet in professional kitchens. The temperature range of +2 °C to +6 °C is suitable for ready-to-eat cold foods such as sandwiches, salads, and desserts but does not support frozen items or hot holding. Weighing 107 kg, the unit requires a trolley or two people to move and must be placed on a sturdy worktop or counter. Its footprint of 1076 mm wide by 717 mm deep fits most serving counters, allowing space for additional equipment or customer access. The two shelves, measuring 1025x388 mm and 1080x458 mm, offer ample room for a variety of products without overcrowding.
Cleaning involves wiping stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, avoiding water entry into cooling vents or the electronic control box. Shelves can be removed for thorough cleaning, and LED strips should be gently wiped with a dry cloth to remove dust. While the automatic defrosting system removes the need for manual ice removal, the drain pan should be checked periodically to ensure it remains clear. The rear mirror can be cleaned with glass cleaner, avoiding harsh chemicals that may damage the reflective coating.
The ADDA GN3 Serve Over Cooling Showcase is also available in a version that supports both chilled and heated items. It is designed for GN3 gastronorm compatibility, fitting standard food pans used in professional kitchens. This model is categorised as front-of-house refrigerated display equipment, where visibility and temperature control are essential for food safety and customer appeal.
