A refrigerated display case keeps chilled food visible and accessible while maintaining a steady low temperature. Cold air is circulated by a fan through an evaporator coil, drawing heat from the interior. The cooled air flows over the shelves and around the products, then returns to the coil to be chilled again. This continuous loop ensures even cooling across every shelf, preventing warm spots that could spoil food. Automatic defrosting melts frost from the coil at set intervals, and the resulting water evaporates without manual intervention, keeping the unit running without interruption.
The Kentucky Cold 4GN is loaded from the front through a curved glass panel. Shelves are arranged to hold sandwiches, pastries or bottled drinks in clear view of customers. The operator sets the target temperature on the electronic control unit, which then regulates the compressor and fan to hold the case between +2 °C and +6 °C. Fluorescent lamps inside the housing illuminate the contents, while warm air is directed across the front and side windows to prevent condensation, keeping the glass clear at all times.
The case is built from stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and ease of cleaning in a busy kitchen. The front glass is rounded and designed for quick replacement if damaged. A single-phase 0.65 kW compressor powers the cooling system, drawing air through the evaporator and distributing it evenly via forced circulation. Automatic defrosting and condensate evaporation remove the need for daily manual maintenance.
The electronic control unit allows precise temperature setting and monitoring. The specified temperature range of +2 °C to +6 °C suits ready-to-eat chilled foods such as sandwiches, salads and desserts, keeping them safe without freezing. The 121 kg weight indicates a sturdy, floor-standing unit that is not easily moved, while the 1410 mm width, 775 mm depth and 585 mm height define the space it occupies on the counter or floor. Each shelf measures 1280 mm by 400 mm, providing ample display area for multiple products.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless steel surfaces and glass with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The forced-air system and automatic defrosting reduce the need for deep cleaning, but the evaporator coil and fan should be inspected periodically to ensure unrestricted airflow. The fluorescent lamps may be replaced as needed without disassembling the case.
The Kentucky Cold 4GN is part of the standard module range, available in lengths equivalent to one, two, three or four gastronorm units. A high version with two shelves and a self-service variant are also offered for different display needs.
