A cotton candy machine spins heated sugar into fine threads that collect into fluffy servings. The Typhoon 350-4 uses four separate tanks, each holding 350 g of flavoured sugar. A heating element beneath each tank melts the sugar while a spinning head at the centre pulls the liquid into thin strands. The strands cool and solidify in mid-air, forming the familiar web that gathers on a wire cone or stick.
To operate, the operator fills each of the four tanks with 350 g of sugar, fits the protective plexiglass dome over the basin and switches the machine on. The heating elements warm the sugar until it liquefies; the spinning head then begins to draw the threads. Within sixty seconds the first portion is ready. The dome keeps the threads contained and protects the operator from the hot basin. A dosing set is included for consistent flavouring and portion control.
The basin is made of aluminium, chosen for its light weight and efficient heat conduction. A plexiglass dome covers the working area, shielding the threads from draughts and the operator from splashes. The machine stands on a compact frame measuring 520 mm wide, 390 mm deep and 470 mm high, allowing it to fit on most worktops without crowding adjacent equipment.
The single control is a power switch that energises the heating elements and the spinning head. The machine requires a 220 V supply, which matches the standard single-phase circuit found in professional kitchens and event venues.
The power rating of 1 to 1.9 kW indicates the load on the electrical circuit; the higher end of the range is reached during the initial heating phase. The four 350 g tanks allow continuous production without refilling between servings, as one tank can be replenished while the others remain in use. The overall size of 520 × 390 × 470 mm determines the space the unit occupies on the counter or trolley.
Cleaning involves removing the aluminium basin and wiping it with a damp cloth to clear residual sugar. The plexiglass dome lifts off for washing in warm water. The dosing set is rinsed after each flavour change to prevent cross-contamination.
The Typhoon 350-4 is listed in the catalogue under professional confectionery equipment, specifically in the cotton candy section.
