A cotton candy machine spins granulated sugar into fine threads by centrifugal force. A heating element at the centre of a rotating head melts the sugar as it is fed in, while the rapid spin flings the liquid outward through tiny perforations. The threads cool instantly in the air and wrap around a paper cone or stick held at the rim of the basin, forming the familiar fluffy cloud.
To operate the Ghilbi 950, the operator fills the aluminium basin with sugar, places the plexiglass protective dome over the head, and connects the electronic foot switch. Once the machine reaches working temperature, the foot switch is pressed to release sugar into the spinning head. Within seconds, the threads begin to form and can be gathered on a cone. The dome keeps the threads contained and protects the operator from the hot head and flying sugar.
The machine is built with an aluminium basin that resists corrosion and conducts heat evenly. A plexiglass dome encloses the spinning head, allowing visibility while shielding the workspace. The electronic foot switch lets the operator control sugar release without using their hands, keeping both hands free to handle cones and serve customers.
The 230 V voltage requirement matches standard UK commercial circuits, allowing the machine to be plugged into a typical kitchen outlet without additional wiring. The power range of 1.6 to 2.2 kW indicates the load on the electrical supply, which may require a dedicated circuit in high-demand settings. The footprint of 550 by 390 by 440 mm fits on most worktops, while the 700 mm pool size provides ample space for sugar threads to form without crowding.
Cleaning involves removing the dome and wiping the basin and head with a damp cloth to clear residual sugar. The aluminium surface should be dried after cleaning to prevent oxidation. The plexiglass dome can be washed with mild detergent and water, avoiding abrasive materials that could scratch the surface.
The Ghilbi 950 is supplied with a single tank and is designed for continuous production, capable of cooking 2 to 6 portions per minute depending on portion size and operator speed.
