A cotton candy machine spins heated sugar into fine threads that collect into fluffy servings. Two heated bowls melt granulated sugar while spinning heads draw the liquid into thin strands. As the strands cool in the air, they solidify and wrap around a paper cone or stick, forming the familiar cloud of cotton candy. The dual-tank design allows two operators to work simultaneously, doubling output without mixing flavours or colours.
To operate, fill each 350 g tank with granulated or flavoured sugar. Plug the machine into a 230 V supply and switch it on. The bowls heat the sugar until it melts; the spinning heads then pull the liquid into threads. Hold a paper cone at the edge of the spinning bowl to collect the strands. Each cycle takes about 60 seconds and yields one to three portions, depending on portion size. The plexiglass dome keeps the threads contained and protects operators from the heated bowls.
The machine is built with an aluminium basin for heat distribution and durability. A plexiglass protective dome covers the spinning area, and a dosing set for flavoured sugar is included. The footprint measures 350 mm deep, 420 mm wide and 420 mm high, fitting on a standard worktop or counter.
Controls are minimal: an on-off switch starts and stops the heating and spinning functions. The 1.0 to 1.9 kW power range reflects the heating load on the electrical circuit, requiring a dedicated socket in a professional kitchen.
Each 350 g tank capacity allows consistent production without frequent refilling. The 230 V voltage matches standard UK commercial circuits, ensuring compatibility with existing kitchen wiring. The compact dimensions suit small to medium kiosks or event catering setups.
Cleaning involves wiping the aluminium basin and plexiglass dome after each use to remove residual sugar. The dosing set for flavoured sugar should be rinsed and dried to prevent clogging. Regular inspection of the spinning heads ensures smooth operation and consistent thread formation.
The Smarty 350 x 2 is a dual-tank model, distinct from single-tank versions in the Francesco Palanca range. It is categorised under professional dessert equipment for catering and event use.
