A stainless steel gastronorm container holds prepared ingredients, cooked dishes or chilled items in a standardised footprint that slides into refrigerators, bain-maries, hot cupboards and trolleys. The GN1/1 size matches the full-width shelf of professional catering equipment, so the container occupies the entire work surface without gaps, maximising the usable space and keeping food organised during service.
The container is formed from a single sheet of stainless steel, folded and welded into a seamless tray. This construction gives a rigid, leak-proof vessel that withstands the weight of dense foods and repeated handling without warping. Stainless steel does not absorb flavours, resists corrosion from acidic or salty foods, and conducts heat evenly when the container is placed in a hot or cold well.
To use the container, the operator fills it with food, slides it into a compatible piece of equipment, and sets the required temperature. When the food is ready, the container is lifted out and placed on a worktop or serving counter. Because the container is stackable, multiple units can be stored on a shelf or trolley, saving space in the kitchen. The 200 mm depth allows the container to hold a full portion of soups, sauces or bulk ingredients without spilling over the rim.
The container is made from stainless steel and is dishwasher-safe, so it can be cleaned alongside other kitchenware. The material withstands temperatures from -40 °C to +300 °C, allowing the container to move directly from a freezer to a hot cupboard without risk of cracking or deformation.
The 530 mm length and 325 mm width correspond to the GN1/1 standard, so the container fits any piece of equipment designed for that footprint. The 26 L volume indicates the amount of food the container can hold, giving a practical measure of capacity for menu planning and portion control.
Cleaning involves washing the container with hot water and detergent, either by hand or in a commercial dishwasher. The smooth, seamless surface allows food residue to be removed easily, and the stainless steel does not require seasoning or special treatment to maintain its finish.
