Conical stainless steel chinois strainer with a diameter of 200 mm. Fine and dense mesh for precise filtering of sauces, soups, purées, creams, and cocktails.
A conical strainer separates liquids from solids by letting the liquid flow through a fine metal mesh while the solids collect inside the cone. The sloping sides concentrate the mixture at the bottom, speeding the process and making it easier to press the last drops through with a ladle or spoon.
To use the strainer, place it over a bowl or pot. Pour the mixture into the cone; the liquid passes through the mesh and the solids remain inside. Press gently with a ladle to extract more liquid, then lift the strainer and scrape the solids into a separate container. The wide rim keeps the strainer stable on the receiving vessel.
The strainer is made of stainless steel, including the fine mesh and the rolled rim. The cone measures 200 mm across the top and stands 150 mm high.
The 200 mm diameter gives a large surface for fast straining of sauces, soups and purées. The 150 mm height allows the strainer to sit over standard kitchen pots and bowls without tipping. Stainless steel resists corrosion and is simple to clean after use.
After straining, rinse the mesh under running water to remove solids. Wash with warm soapy water, rinse and dry. The fine mesh can trap small particles; a soft brush helps dislodge them without damaging the steel.
The catalogue lists the strainer under kitchen utensils for liquid preparation and finishing.
