asbestos free coupling
A coffee group gasket seals the portafilter against the brew head of an espresso machine. Over time, the rubber hardens and loses its flexibility, allowing water to bypass the coffee puck and produce weak or uneven extraction. Replacing the gasket restores the tight seal that keeps the pressurised water flowing through the grounds at the correct rate.
The gasket sits inside the group head, forming a ring between the metal surfaces of the machine and the portafilter. When the portafilter is locked in place, the gasket compresses slightly, preventing leaks and maintaining the pressure needed for espresso. Without this seal, the machine cannot build the necessary pressure, and the coffee will taste under-extracted or watery.
To fit the gasket, the portafilter is removed and the old gasket is pried out of its groove in the group head. The new gasket is pressed into the same groove, ensuring it lies flat and even all the way round. Once seated, the portafilter is reattached and tested with a blank shot to check for leaks. A correctly installed gasket should allow the portafilter to lock with a firm quarter-turn and hold pressure without dripping.
This 75x68x2 mm gasket is made to the exact dimensions required by Expobar espresso machines. The measurements refer to the outer diameter, inner diameter and thickness of the ring, ensuring a precise fit in the group head of the listed models.
Compatible with Expobar models: Diamant, EB61, Elen, G10, Markus, Markus Silver, Megacrem, Monroc, New Elegance and Office. It fits directly and requires no modification to the machine.
