A chamber thermostat regulates the temperature inside refrigerated spaces by switching the compressor on or off at a set point. It senses the air temperature within the chamber and sends a signal to the refrigeration circuit, ensuring the unit runs only when cooling is needed. This prevents over-chilling, reduces energy use and keeps stored food at a consistent, safe temperature without manual intervention.
The operator sets the desired temperature on the thermostat dial or digital interface. Once installed, the device continuously monitors the chamber air. When the temperature rises above the set point, the thermostat closes the circuit, activating the compressor. The compressor then circulates refrigerant through the evaporator coils, removing heat from the chamber. When the temperature falls to the set point, the thermostat opens the circuit, stopping the compressor until the next cycle begins.
This Stalgast chamber thermostat is designed for integration into the control panel of walk-in fridges, cold rooms and refrigerated display cabinets. It connects directly to the refrigeration circuit, replacing a faulty or outdated unit without altering the existing wiring layout.
The thermostat fits a range of commercial refrigeration equipment where a 55 °C cut-out is specified, including units from brands that use standardised control modules.
