A carbon motor brush spring maintains constant pressure on the brushes that transfer current to the armature of an electric motor. Without this pressure, the brushes would vibrate, causing arcing, uneven wear and eventual motor failure. The spring ensures the brush stays in contact with the commutator throughout the motor's speed range, preserving smooth operation and extending the life of both brush and motor.
The operator does not interact with the spring directly. It is installed inside the motor housing, behind the brush holder. When replacing worn brushes, the technician removes the old brush, inserts the new one into the holder, and the spring automatically applies the correct pressure as the brush is seated. No adjustment is required; the spring's tension is set at manufacture.
This spring is a spare part for carbon motor brush assemblies. It is manufactured to the exact dimensions required by the original equipment, ensuring compatibility with the brushes and holders used in the specified machines.
The spring fits Dito Electrolux cutters, Fimar planetary machines and slicers, and KitchenAid kitchen machines, kneaders, mixers and planetary machines. It is sold individually as article L9240014.
