A cutlery basket organises small tableware so that hot water and detergent reach every surface during the wash cycle. The open grid construction allows water to circulate freely, lifting food particles and rinsing them away without trapping debris. This method prevents cross-contamination and ensures each piece emerges clean and dry, ready for the next service.
The operator loads knives, forks, spoons, bread plates and small serving utensils directly into the basket. No sorting is needed; the grid keeps items separated so they do not nest or shield one another. The basket is then placed on the rack of a commercial dishwasher, where the machine's spray arms target it from above and below. After the programme ends, the basket is lifted out and the contents can be transferred straight to the drawer or cupboard.
The basket is made of a lightweight plastic that withstands repeated exposure to high-temperature water and alkaline detergents without warping or discolouring. The 270 mm length accommodates standard cutlery sets and small bread plates, while the 100 mm width fits neatly on a single rack rail. The 50 mm height keeps the load stable during the wash and prevents items from sliding out. At 0.08 kg, the basket is easy to handle when empty or full, reducing strain during repetitive loading and unloading.
Cleaning is limited to the weekly maintenance of the dishwasher itself; the basket requires no additional scrubbing or soaking beyond the machine cycle it is designed for.
