Airtight food containers slow oxidation by sealing out air, keeping ingredients fresher for longer in a professional kitchen. The lid's double airtight lip presses against the rim of the container, creating a barrier that reduces oxygen contact with the stored food. Less oxygen means slower spoilage, so prepared ingredients, portioned stocks or pre-cooked dishes stay usable for more service periods without loss of quality or safety.
To load the container, place the food inside, align the lid and press down until the lip snaps into place. A small tab on the lid lets the operator lift it without prying, while a channel in the lid design allows a controlled amount of air to escape, further lowering oxygen levels inside. Once sealed, the container stacks with other GastroNorm units on worktops, in cupboards or on refrigerated shelves. Colour-coded clips attach to the rim, letting staff label contents, dates or allergens at a glance without opening the lid.
The container is made of food-safe plastic, sized to the GastroNorm 2/3 standard for compatibility with professional kitchen equipment. Its 354 mm by 325 mm footprint fits standardised racks, trolleys and bain-maries, while the 100 mm height holds a 9 litre volume without overfilling. The plastic is rigid enough to protect contents during transport and light enough to handle when full.
An IML (in-mould label) traceability label is embedded in the plastic, showing batch and production details without separate stickers. The label remains legible through repeated washing cycles and does not peel or fade.
Cleaning follows from the smooth plastic surfaces and the removable lid. Wash the container and lid in a commercial dishwasher or by hand with standard kitchen detergents. The airtight lip and channel should be checked for food debris after each use to maintain the seal. Colour-coded clips are removed before washing and reattached once dry.
The container is available in multiple colours for colour-coded food management systems.
