Airtight food storage containers slow oxidation by limiting the air that reaches prepared ingredients. The lid presses a flexible seal against the rim of the container, trapping the air inside. When the lid is closed, a small channel in the seal lets excess air escape, reducing the oxygen that causes spoilage and extending the shelf life of cooked and raw foods in professional kitchens.
The container is filled with food, leaving a small gap at the top. The lid is aligned and pressed down until it clicks into place. A tab on the lid gives a firm grip for opening, even with wet or greasy hands. Colour-coded clips snap onto the lid to label contents, temperatures or dates without writing on the container itself.
The body is made of rigid, food-safe plastic that withstands repeated stacking and daily washing. The lid has a double airtight lip that flexes against the rim to form a continuous seal. An integrated traceability label accepts IML printing for batch numbers or allergen information.
The 325 mm by 265 mm footprint matches the GastroNorm 1/2 standard, fitting half of a 1/1 gastronorm tray or shelf. The 100 mm height holds 6.5 litres of liquids or solids without spilling when stacked. The dimensions allow the container to slide into standard refrigerated and heated holding units, keeping food organised and accessible during service.
After use, the container and lid are washed in hot water with detergent. The smooth surfaces and rounded corners prevent food from sticking, so scrubbing is rarely needed. The plastic is dishwasher-safe and does not absorb odours or stains. The lid's seal remains flexible if not exposed to temperatures above those found in a commercial kitchen.
The container is supplied with a lid and colour-coded clips. The same lid fits other ARAVEN GN 1/2 containers of the same height, allowing a single lid to be used across multiple containers of the same size.
