Y fitting LF L3349224

A Y fitting divides a single gas supply line into two separate outlets, allowing one connection to serve two appliances or burners. The fitting uses a branched design to split the flow evenly, maintaining consistent pressure to each outlet. This arrangement is common where space or pipework limits the number of supply points, such as under a dual-fuel hob or a range with multiple gas burners.

The operator attaches the inlet side of the Y fitting to the main gas line, then connects the two outlet branches to the appliances or burners. Once secured, the fitting remains in place, distributing gas as long as the supply is open. No moving parts are involved; the flow is controlled by the appliance valves or the main gas tap.

Construction is typically brass or plated steel, chosen for resistance to corrosion and compatibility with gas lines. The threads are standardised to match common gas pipe fittings, ensuring a secure seal when tightened. No additional controls are present; the fitting itself has no valves or regulators.

In practice, the Y fitting allows a single gas point to serve two appliances without requiring a second supply line. This reduces pipework and simplifies installation in kitchens where space is limited or where multiple gas appliances are grouped together. The fitting is fixed in place and requires no routine adjustment, though it should be checked periodically for leaks as part of standard gas safety procedures.

The catalogue places this fitting under gas connection components, used where a single supply must be split for dual use.
