Stainless steel planetary discs 12 + 6 spits mm 1115 with forks
A wood-fuelled chicken grill roasts poultry over an open flame, infusing each piece with the smoky aroma of burning wood or charcoal. The heat radiates from below, while the spits rotate to expose every surface evenly. This method locks in natural juices and creates a crisp, golden exterior without drying the meat. The open-frame design allows the operator to adjust the fire and monitor the cooking process directly, giving control over the intensity of the flavour and the degree of doneness.
The 126P-CAMINO legna uses planetary rotation: the discs that hold the spits orbit around a central axis while each spit also turns on its own. This double motion keeps the poultry close to the heat source, speeding up cooking and reducing fuel consumption. The operator loads up to 84 chickens of 1 kg each on the main discs and an additional 42 on the secondary set. The spits, 1115 mm long with stainless steel forks, secure the birds in place and ensure even exposure to the heat.
To start, the operator lights the wood or charcoal in the firebox beneath the spits. Once the fire is established, the chickens are skewered onto the spits and the discs are locked into position. The control panel is set to begin rotation, and the poultry cooks while the operator tends the fire, adding fuel as needed. A removable stainless steel bucket collects fat and drippings, preventing flare-ups and keeping the cooking area clean. When the chickens are done, the discs are stopped, the spits are removed, and the birds are taken off for service.
The grill is built from stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to heat and corrosion. The open frame measures 1460 mm wide, 800 mm deep and 920 mm high, providing a compact footprint for a high-capacity unit. The 0.25 kW motor drives the planetary discs, drawing power from a 230 V single-phase supply, the standard for most professional kitchen circuits. The removable fat-collecting bucket simplifies cleaning, as it can be taken out, emptied and washed separately.
The 126P-CAMINO legna is part of Elangrill's Camino range of wood and charcoal rotisseries, designed for operators who need to roast large quantities of poultry while maintaining the traditional barbecue flavour. The Grill Plus system allows the discs to be locked, letting the spits rotate independently for faster cooking of smaller batches. The unit is categorised under wood-fuelled rotisseries in the professional catering equipment catalogue.
