A water pan security spring holds the water pan firmly in place on an icemaker, preventing it from shifting or lifting during operation. The spring applies constant tension, ensuring the pan remains level and sealed so water flows only into the ice moulds without spillage or misalignment. Without this tension, the pan could vibrate loose, causing leaks or interruptions in ice production.
To fit the spring, the operator opens the icemaker's front panel or side access, locates the pan's mounting points, and stretches the spring over the designated hooks or lugs. Once secured, the pan should sit flush and immovable; if it wobbles, the spring is either misaligned or the wrong gauge. After fitting, the icemaker is closed and restarted, with the spring working silently to maintain the pan's position through every freeze and harvest cycle.
This spring is made to a 1.6 mm gauge, matching the mounting hardware of the specified icemaker models. The gauge determines the tension the spring can exert, which must be sufficient to counter the weight of a full water pan and the vibration of the compressor and water pump.
The spring fits ICE TECH icemakers PS-22, PS-32 and PS-42, and ITV icemakers NGQ130, NGQ20, NGQ30, NGQ40, NGQ50, NGQ60, NGQ90, Q20C, Q30C and Q40C. It is listed in the catalogue under icemaker spares and water system components.
