A water flow restrictor regulates the volume of water entering an icemaker to ensure consistent ice formation. Without this control, fluctuations in water pressure could lead to uneven ice cubes, overfilling or incomplete freezing. The restrictor creates a steady, measured flow, allowing the machine to produce ice at the correct thickness and clarity every cycle.
The operator does not interact directly with the restrictor during normal use. It is installed inline on the water supply line before the icemaker's inlet valve. Once fitted, it requires no adjustment; the flow rate is fixed by the internal orifice. The icemaker's own controls manage the timing and duration of water delivery, while the restrictor maintains the correct volume per fill.
This 8 mm restrictor is constructed as a compact brass fitting. Brass is chosen for its resistance to corrosion and scaling, which are common in hard-water areas. The material also withstands the low temperatures and repeated thermal cycles inside an icemaker without becoming brittle or leaking.
The restrictor fits specific models of ICE TECH and ITV professional icemakers. ICE TECH models include the SK-35, SK-35-R290, SK-45, SK-45-R290, SS-35, SS-35-R290, SS-45 and SS-45-R290 series. ITV models include ALFA-NG30-R290, DELTA-NG30-R290, GALA-NG30-R290, M-SPIKA-200, M-SPIKA-400, Spika-200, SPIKA33 and Spika-400 series. Installation requires only a standard spanner to secure the fitting onto the water line, ensuring a leak-proof connection.
Cleaning is minimal. The restrictor itself has no moving parts or filters to service. Over time, mineral deposits may accumulate inside the orifice, reducing flow. If ice production slows or cubes become smaller, the restrictor can be removed and soaked in a descaling solution to restore the original flow rate. No disassembly is needed; the entire fitting is treated as a single unit.
The product is listed in the catalogue under icemaker spare parts and water management components.
