A wall-mounted shelf designed to hold plates, bowls and other tableware while they air-dry keeps the worktop clear and speeds up the wash-up cycle in a busy kitchen. The two-tier layout lets water drip from the upper row of dishes onto a sloped tray below, then down into a gutter that carries it away from the shelf. This arrangement prevents puddles on the work surface and reduces the risk of cross-contamination between wet and dry items.

The operator loads clean, wet dishes onto the upper shelf, spacing them so air can circulate between each piece. Water drains through the perforated base of the shelf into the integrated drip tray, which slopes towards the rear and empties into a sink or waste pipe. Once the dishes are dry, they are moved to storage cupboards, freeing the shelf for the next batch.

The unit is constructed from stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to moisture, corrosion and repeated cleaning with commercial detergents. The wall bracket is fixed to masonry or a sturdy partition, distributing the load evenly so the shelf remains level and stable under the weight of wet crockery.

Controls are not required; the shelf operates passively once installed. The 610 mm width provides space for up to twenty plates of 300 mm diameter, while the 330 mm depth keeps the footprint compact enough for most kitchen walls without obstructing walkways.

The two-tier design separates wet and dry zones, reducing the need to wipe down the work surface after each load. The drip tray is removable for cleaning, and the perforated shelves can be lifted out to reach any trapped food debris. Regular wiping with a damp cloth and mild detergent maintains hygiene and appearance.
