A vibratory pump moves water by rapid oscillations of a diaphragm, driven by an electromagnetic coil. The coil pulls and releases the diaphragm in quick succession, creating pulses of pressure that push water through the system without the need for rotating parts. This method delivers consistent flow under varying loads, making it well-suited for espresso and vending machines where precise water delivery is critical.
To operate, the pump is connected to a 24 V power supply and plumbed into the water circuit. When activated, the diaphragm vibrates at mains frequency, generating pressure that forces water through the coffee machine's brewing group or dispensing nozzle. The operator sets the desired flow or pressure via the machine's control panel, while the pump maintains the required output without manual adjustment.
The EP5 is constructed with a sealed electromagnetic assembly and a diaphragm designed to withstand continuous use. The housing is engineered to contain the pressure pulses, ensuring quiet operation and longevity. A maximum pressure rating of 15 bar allows it to handle the demands of espresso extraction and other high-pressure applications in professional coffee equipment.
Controls are integrated into the host machine, so the pump itself has no user-adjustable settings. The 24 V supply means it can be safely installed in low-voltage circuits, reducing electrical hazards in wet environments. The 48 W power rating reflects the load it places on the supply, which must be accounted for when designing or upgrading a machine's electrical system.
Cleaning involves flushing the water circuit to remove scale or debris that could impede flow or damage the diaphragm. The pump's design allows for easy disconnection from the plumbing for maintenance or replacement. It is compatible with ALICE CLUB and NOI DUE vending coffee machines, where it replaces the original pump assembly.
