A vacuum valve maintains the sealed pressure essential for consistent espresso extraction. In a professional espresso machine, water is forced through tightly packed coffee grounds under controlled pressure. The vacuum valve acts as a one-way gate: it allows air to escape when the system is first filled, then closes to prevent any loss of pressure during brewing. Without this seal, the machine cannot build the necessary bar pressure, leading to weak or uneven extraction and wasted coffee.
To use the valve, the technician first isolates the machine from the water supply and releases any remaining pressure. The old valve is unscrewed from its threaded port, usually located on the boiler or heat-exchange assembly. The new LF valve is then wound into place by hand until finger-tight, followed by a final turn with a spanner to ensure a leak-proof seal. Once the system is repressurised, the valve automatically closes, allowing the machine to resume normal operation.
Constructed from brass, the LF vacuum valve is threaded to a standard 1/4" male BSP fitting. Brass is chosen for its resistance to corrosion and thermal cycling, ensuring long-term reliability in the humid, high-temperature environment of a commercial espresso machine.
The 1/4" thread size is a common standard across the listed brands, meaning this single spare part can replace the original valve on dozens of machine models without modification. It fits AZKOYEN, CARIMALI, CASADIO, CIMBALI, DAFNE, ELEKTRA, FAEMA, FRACINO, GAGGIA, GRIMAC, MARCFI-ANCAS, NUOVA SIMONELLI, PAVONI, PR AROMA SE200 SCT, RANCILIO, ROYAL, SAECO, SAN MARCO, SANREMO, SCALA and SPAZIALE espresso and vending machines.
This valve is catalogued as a direct replacement part for the vacuum system of professional espresso equipment.
