A transformer steps mains voltage down to the low-voltage supply that control circuits and safety devices require. In professional catering equipment, the 230 V mains enters the transformer's primary winding, where it creates a magnetic field. This field induces a lower voltage in the secondary winding—here 12 V—without direct electrical connection, so the low-voltage side remains isolated from the mains for operator safety and reliable signalling.
The transformer is installed inside the appliance, connected between the mains input and the control board. Once the appliance is powered on, the transformer delivers a steady 12 V supply to timers, thermostats, door switches and indicator lamps. No user adjustment is needed; the unit operates continuously while the appliance is switched on.
Constructed with a laminated iron core and copper windings, the transformer is compact and fixed directly to the chassis of the equipment it serves. It fits a wide range of ANGELO PO models: blast chillers SM1LAM and SM1LM, neutral counter refrigerated units in the 6BMA, 6BMB, 6BMC, 6FMA, 6FMB, 6FMC, 6JA, 6JB, 6RA, 6RB, 6RC, 6RMA, 6RMB, 6RMC, 6TRA and 6TRB series, and refrigerated cupboards including the 120, 135, 40CP, 55, 65, CX and FG ranges.
Cleaning is limited to keeping the exterior free of dust and moisture; the transformer itself has no user-serviceable parts. It is a direct replacement for the original part and is listed in the electrical spares section of the catalogue.
