A stackable chair built for professional catering environments, the Patyczak Retro 121 combines the familiar lines of a traditional wooden chair with a modern polypropylene seat and backrest. The open-back design reduces weight and allows air to circulate, keeping diners comfortable during long service periods. Polypropylene is chosen for its ability to withstand repeated cleaning, spills and temperature changes without warping, cracking or fading, making it a practical choice for both indoor dining rooms and outdoor terraces.
The chair arrives fully assembled, ready to be placed directly onto the floor or stacked neatly when not in use. Stacking is designed to be stable and space-efficient: up to five chairs can be stacked vertically, reducing the footprint needed for storage between services.
The operator simply lifts the chair by its seat edge and places it onto the next chair in the stack, aligning the legs so they interlock securely. When needed again, the chairs are unstacked one by one and positioned around tables. The lightweight construction—4.5 kg per chair—allows a single staff member to move multiple chairs at once, speeding up table turnover without strain.
Constructed entirely from polypropylene, the Patyczak Retro 121 is resistant to moisture and UV radiation, preventing damage from spills, humidity or sunlight exposure. This makes it suitable for year-round use in both indoor and outdoor settings, such as pub gardens, café terraces or event marquees. The material is also non-porous, so it does not absorb odours or stains, and can be wiped down quickly with standard kitchen sanitising solutions.
The chair is available in two colours: black as the standard Patyczak Retro 121, and white under the model number Patyczak Retro 521. Both versions share the same dimensions—430 mm deep, 470 mm wide and 900 mm high—allowing them to be mixed or matched within the same space without disrupting the visual flow or seating capacity.
The footprint of 430 by 470 mm per chair determines the space it occupies on the floor, which in turn affects table spacing and overall seating capacity in a dining area. The 900 mm height is standard for dining chairs, ensuring compatibility with most table heights and allowing diners to sit comfortably with adequate legroom. The 4.5 kg weight indicates that the chair is light enough to be moved frequently by staff but heavy enough to remain stable when in use, reducing the risk of tipping.
Cleaning is straightforward: the smooth polypropylene surface can be wiped with a damp cloth and mild detergent, or sanitised with a food-safe disinfectant spray. There are no crevices or joints where food debris can accumulate, simplifying daily maintenance. The chair requires no assembly, lubrication or replacement parts, and its resistance to UV radiation means it will not become brittle or discoloured over time, even when used outdoors.
The Patyczak Retro 121 is categorised under seating solutions for professional catering environments, offering a balance of durability, ease of use and space efficiency for restaurants, cafés, bars and event venues.
