A tall glass jet breaker stops steam and water from flowing back into the boiler of an espresso machine. When steam or hot water is drawn through the group head, the jet breaker creates an air gap inside its glass column. This gap breaks the siphon effect that could otherwise pull water back into the boiler when the pump stops, protecting the machine from pressure imbalances and contamination.
The operator does not interact with the jet breaker directly during normal use. It is installed inside the machine, between the boiler and the group head, where it remains in place while the machine heats, brews and steams. The glass column is visible through the front panel of the machine, allowing staff to check that the water level inside the breaker stays within the safe range marked on the glass.
The jet breaker is made of borosilicate glass, chosen for its resistance to thermal shock and chemical corrosion from water and steam. The glass column is mounted in a metal frame that attaches to the machine's internal plumbing. No moving parts or seals are present; the device relies on the physical gap inside the glass to perform its function.
This model fits Coffee Queen, Crem and Expobar commercial espresso machines. It is listed in the catalogue under spare parts for coffee equipment.
