A straight fitting of the JG type creates a leak-proof push-fit joint between two lengths of tubing without tools or clamps. One end of the fitting accepts the tube; the other end is inserted into a matching port on the appliance. When the tube is pushed home, a collet inside the fitting grips the tube wall and a captive O-ring seals the connection. The joint holds under the water pressure of a professional espresso machine and can be released by pressing the collet collar, allowing quick disconnection for maintenance or reconfiguration.
To use the fitting, cut the tubing square and remove any burrs. Push the tube into the fitting until it bottoms out; a slight resistance confirms the collet has engaged. Insert the opposite end into the appliance port until it clicks. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks. If the joint needs to be broken, press the collet collar towards the fitting body while pulling the tube free.
The fitting is a single-piece moulding in food-safe polymer, with a stainless-steel collet and a silicone O-ring. It is designed for use with the tubing diameters and water pressures found in ASCASO, ATEL, GEV, and JOHN GUEST espresso machines and water boilers.
This spare part replaces the following original-equipment part numbers: ASCASO V.9153, GEV 440024, ATEL 03JG003, and JOHN GUEST CM320816FE. It is listed in the catalogue under espresso-machine spares and water-line fittings.
