Gredil steam extractor is a professional extractor for rooms with low ceiling height, providing effective removal of steam and grease. Durable construction, easy installation and the ability to customise lighting for various HoReCa needs.
A steam extractor draws moisture, grease and cooking odours from the air by pulling them through a filter and expelling them outside. The fan creates a steady airflow that captures rising steam before it spreads across the ceiling, keeping the kitchen atmosphere clear and reducing condensation on surfaces. This method relies on a sealed ducting system to direct the extracted air outdoors, preventing recirculation of contaminants.
The operator mounts the unit against the wall or from the ceiling, aligning the exhaust collar with the ducting. Once installed, the extractor runs continuously during cooking. Grease filters trap airborne particles, which are removed and cleaned periodically. The removable connection spigot allows the ducting to be disconnected without tools, simplifying maintenance. A drain valve collects condensed water, which is emptied to prevent overflow.
The extractor is constructed from stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and ease of cleaning. The exhaust collar measures 250 mm in diameter, matching standard ducting sizes. A removable spigot connects the unit to the ducting system, and optional spigots in diameters of 150 mm, 200 mm and 315 mm allow adaptation to different ducting setups. A drain valve fitted at the base collects moisture that condenses inside the unit.
Controls are minimal: the extractor operates via an external switch or kitchen ventilation system. Optional lighting, available separately, can be installed to illuminate the cooking area beneath the unit.
The 250 mm exhaust collar diameter ensures compatibility with standard commercial ducting, while the 2010 mm width provides broad coverage for hobs and worktops. The 400 mm depth allows installation in kitchens with limited ceiling height, where taller units would not fit. The stainless steel construction withstands frequent cleaning and exposure to steam, while the removable spigot and drain valve simplify upkeep.
Cleaning involves removing the grease filters and washing them in hot water with detergent. The stainless steel housing is wiped down to remove grease build-up, and the drain valve is emptied regularly to prevent blockages. The removable spigot can be detached for thorough cleaning of the ducting connection.
Optional accessories include lighting for the work area beneath the extractor, a spigot cap to seal the outlet when not in use, and alternative spigots in diameters of 150 mm, 200 mm and 315 mm for non-standard ducting.
The extractor is categorised under professional kitchen ventilation systems, suitable for restaurants, cafés and hotels where effective steam and odour removal is required in low-ceiling environments.
