for boiler valve needle
A spring in the brewing unit of a superautomatic coffee machine keeps the two halves of the brew chamber pressed together while the ground coffee is tamped and extracted. The force it exerts must be consistent: too little and the water channels past the coffee instead of through it, too much and the motor struggles to open the chamber. This spring is sized to deliver the exact tension the manufacturer calibrated for the mechanism, ensuring the correct pressure without overloading the drive system.
The sequence is automatic once the machine is loaded with beans and water. The operator selects the drink, the grinder doses the coffee, the brew group closes, the spring compresses, the pump sends hot water through the puck, and the spent grounds are ejected. The spring remains inside the brew group, unseen, but its tension is what makes the extraction repeatable cup after cup.
Constructed as a helical coil, the spring is made of corrosion-resistant steel to withstand the damp, acidic environment inside the machine. Its dimensions—4 mm in diameter and 29 mm in length—match the pocket in the brew group where it sits, so it neither binds nor rattles.
This spring fits a wide range of professional and semi-professional machines from GAGGIA PROFESSIONAL, KRUPS, PALATINO 905 and SAECO, including models used in cafés, offices and vending installations. The part is listed under the brewing components in the manufacturer's catalogue.
