A solenoid valve opens and closes the water supply in professional and domestic appliances by converting an electrical signal into mechanical movement. When current flows through the coil, it creates a magnetic field that pulls a plunger, lifting the seal off its seat and allowing water to pass. As soon as the current stops, a spring returns the plunger, shutting off the flow. This on-off action is instantaneous and precise, making it essential for timed cycles in washing machines and ovens where water must enter at the right moment and stop without delay.
The operator does not interact directly with the valve; it is controlled by the appliance's programme. The valve receives a signal from the timer or electronic board, opens for the required duration, then closes automatically. No manual adjustment is needed, and the valve remains out of sight behind the appliance's casing, responding only to the programmed sequence.
This two-way valve is constructed with a brass body and internal seals designed for repeated cycling. The coil is encased in a protective housing to shield it from moisture and mechanical stress. The inlet and outlet ports connect to the appliance's water lines, and the electrical terminals link to the control circuit.
The valve fits a wide range of models from Candy, Hoover, Iberna, Maytag, Rosieres and Zerowatt, covering both washing machines and ovens. Each listed model uses the same electrical and mechanical interface, so the valve can be replaced without modification to the appliance.
Cleaning is limited to checking that the inlet filter screen, if present, is free of debris. No lubrication or adjustment is required, and the valve is not designed to be disassembled in the field. If the coil fails or the seal wears, the entire valve is replaced as a unit.
The catalogue places this item under spare parts for water control in laundry and cooking appliances.
