A solenoid valve switches fluid flow electrically without moving parts outside the line. When the coil is energised, it pulls a plunger against a spring, opening or closing ports to redirect liquid through one of three hose connections. This method gives instant, repeatable control over water, steam or cleaning solutions in professional catering equipment.
The operator connects the inlet and two outlets to the hose lines, then wires the valve to a 230 V supply. A control signal—typically from a timer, thermostat or manual switch—energises the coil, shifting the plunger and rerouting the flow. When the signal stops, the spring returns the plunger, restoring the original path or shutting off the flow entirely.
The valve body is built for hose connections, allowing quick installation in existing pipework without soldering or threading. Its construction suits continuous use in wet, hot or chemically active environments typical of commercial kitchens.
The 230 V rating matches the standard single-phase supply in British professional kitchens, so the valve can be wired directly to a fused spur or switched socket without additional transformers or converters.
Cleaning follows from the materials: flush the valve with warm water or a mild detergent solution to remove residue, then dry the coil housing to prevent moisture ingress. Regular cycling during cleaning keeps the plunger free of scale or debris.
This is a spare part that fits equipment specifying Parker solenoid valves for hose lines.
