with coil B6 17VA 230V 50Hz
fluid temperature -10 ° C + 140 ° C
A solenoid valve opens and closes the flow of gas electrically, replacing a manual tap with remote control. When the coil is energised, it pulls a plunger against a spring, lifting a seal from its seat and allowing gas to pass. The moment power is cut, the spring returns the plunger, shutting off the line instantly. This principle gives fast, fail-safe operation: if the power fails, the valve closes automatically, stopping the gas supply without human intervention.
The operator connects the valve in-line between the gas source and the appliance. A 230 V signal from a thermostat, timer or safety circuit energises the coil, opening the valve. When the signal stops, the valve shuts. There are no manual adjustments; the sequence is purely on-off.
The valve body is machined for a 1/4" female threaded connection, matching standard gas fittings in professional catering equipment. The coil is rated for 230 V, the standard voltage for commercial kitchen circuits, so it plugs directly into the control wiring without a transformer.
In practice, the 230 V rating means the valve draws power from the same circuit as the appliance it controls, simplifying installation. The 1/4" thread determines the size of gas line it fits, so it connects to hobs, grills and ovens designed for that diameter. The fail-safe closure ensures the gas supply stops if the power is interrupted, meeting safety requirements in commercial kitchens.
Cleaning is limited to keeping the exterior free of grease and dust; the internal mechanism is sealed and not user-serviceable. The valve is a single version with no variants.
This valve is listed under gas safety components in the professional catering equipment catalogue.
