A solenoid valve controls the flow of water, steam or cleaning solution in professional catering equipment by converting an electrical signal into mechanical movement. When the appliance calls for liquid, the coil inside the valve energises, creating a magnetic field that pulls a plunger away from its seat. This opens the passage, allowing fluid to move from the supply line into the machine. As soon as the signal stops, the spring returns the plunger, sealing the seat and cutting off the flow. The 180° port arrangement lets the valve be mounted in either direction without altering the flow path, simplifying installation in tight cupboard spaces behind beverage dispensers and dishwashers.
The operator does not interact directly with the valve; it works automatically when the appliance programme starts. In a grinder-dispenser, the valve opens to admit water for brewing or rinsing; in a dishwasher, it releases detergent or rinse aid at the correct point in the cycle. The valve remains closed whenever the machine is idle, preventing leaks and conserving water.
Construction is a brass body with a stainless-steel plunger and synthetic rubber seals. The coil is encapsulated in a water-resistant housing to protect against splashes and steam common in commercial kitchens.
This solenoid valve fits a wide range of professional equipment: ANIMO grinder-dispensers, BAKE OFF convection ovens, COLGED, ELETTROBAR, HILTA, IME OMNIWASH and MBM dishwashers, and MEIKO glasswashers and cupwashers. The catalogue places it under spare parts for beverage and ware-washing systems.
