A square stainless steel sink bowl for worktop installation in professional catering kitchens, where a compact yet deep basin is needed for washing, rinsing and soaking utensils, crockery or produce. The bowl holds water without splashing, and the flat rim sits flush on the worktop so that spills drain back into the sink rather than onto the floor.
The bowl is formed from a single sheet of stainless steel, pressed into shape and welded at the corners. This method leaves no seams or crevices where food debris or bacteria can collect, and the smooth surface can be cleaned with a cloth or brush without trapping residue. Stainless steel does not absorb odours, stain from acidic foods or corrode in the humid atmosphere of a busy kitchen.
To install, the bowl is dropped into a cut-out in the worktop and the rim is sealed to the surface with silicone. The weight of the bowl and the water it holds is carried by the worktop, not by the sink itself, so the unit remains stable even when filled. The 200 mm depth gives enough clearance for washing large pots or trays without overflowing, while the 330 mm width allows two hands to work side by side.
The sink has no built-in tap holes or overflow; these are drilled into the worktop or splashback as required. The absence of pre-cut holes keeps the rim intact for a secure seal and allows the tap to be positioned where it is most convenient for the workflow.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the bowl with a damp cloth and mild detergent after each service. For deeper cleaning, a non-abrasive cleaner removes grease without scratching the surface. The bowl should be dried after washing to prevent water spots and maintain a hygienic finish.
This model is supplied as a single bowl only. It is part of the BHS range of catering sinks and worktop accessories.
