A thermostat controls the temperature of water in professional dishwashers, ensuring it reaches and maintains the level needed to sanitise dishes, glassware and utensils. In single-phase machines, the thermostat monitors the water as it circulates through the wash tank, switching the heating element on or off to hold the temperature steady. Without this regulation, water could overheat and damage delicate items or stay too cool to remove grease and bacteria effectively.
The operator sets the desired temperature on the thermostat, typically between 35 °C and 93 °C, depending on the wash cycle. Once the machine starts, the thermostat continuously checks the water temperature. If it falls below the set point, the heating element activates until the water returns to the correct level. This cycle repeats throughout the wash, rinse and final sanitising stages, providing consistent results without manual adjustment.
This LF single-phase thermostat is constructed for integration into commercial dishwashing equipment. It fits a wide range of models from BONNET, DESCO, ELFRAMO, EMMEPI, ETE, KOMEL and SAMMIC, including hood-type dishwashers, pull-through conveyors, glasswashers and pan-washing machines. The temperature range of 35-93 °C allows the thermostat to support both low-temperature rinses and high-temperature sanitising cycles, covering the full spectrum of professional dishwashing needs.
Cleaning and maintenance involve ensuring the thermostat's sensor remains free of scale or debris, which could interfere with accurate temperature readings. Regular descaling of the dishwasher itself helps prevent build-up that might affect the thermostat's performance over time.
This component is listed under dishwasher spare parts in the catering equipment catalogue.
