A refrigerated buffet keeps chilled food at serving temperature without drying it out. Instead of a fan that would blow cold air across the dishes, this static unit relies on a compressor and a refrigerant gas that circulates through coils beneath the stainless-steel well. The gas absorbs heat from the well, lowering its temperature to the set point. Because the cold is transferred by conduction rather than convection, the food stays moist and the buffet runs almost silently—an advantage in a school dining hall.

The operator loads the well with up to five GN1/1 gastronorm pans, levels the adjustable feet to keep the unit stable, and sets the digital thermostat between +2 °C and +10 °C. Once the well reaches the chosen temperature, the pans can be placed inside and the display accessories fitted: sneeze-guards, tray slides or dish-holders on the front, back or short sides. The buffet is then ready for service, with the compressor cycling on and off to maintain the temperature.

The frame is stainless steel, clad in laminated wood panels available in twenty-four colours. A 260 mm-deep well with rounded edges and a drain cock simplifies cleaning. The lower compartment, if specified, provides additional storage for chilled items or dry goods.

Controls consist of a digital thermostat that regulates the well temperature. The 230 V supply connects to a standard single-phase circuit, and the 0.352 kW power rating indicates a modest electrical load suitable for most school kitchens.

The 99 kg weight means the unit is moved on its four reinforced castors—two with brakes—before being levelled on the adjustable feet. External dimensions of 1821 × 747 × 750 mm give a compact footprint that fits against a wall or in an island configuration, while the 1667 × 593 × 260 mm well accommodates five full-size GN1/1 pans.

Cleaning involves wiping the stainless-steel well and frame, rinsing the drain cock, and removing any detachable tray slides or sneeze-guards for separate washing. The laminated wood panels can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

Optional accessories include LED or halogen lighting, straight or inclined tempered-glass sneeze-guards, stainless-steel or laminated-wood tray slides, and a variety of dish-holders. The lower compartment can be fitted with doors, and custom adhesive stickers allow branding or instructional labelling.
