| NOTES | 4 castors 75 mm, 2 with brake |
The door has a soft-closing system with noise protection.
A neutral buffet module organises self-service lines without built-in heating or cooling. The ATHENA SAL N1 provides a closed storage compartment behind a single door, keeping plates, trays or dry goods out of sight while the worktop above remains clear for service. The door swings on soft-close hinges that slow its movement before it shuts, reducing noise and preventing slams during busy service periods.
The module stands on four 75 mm castors, two of which lock to hold the unit steady. These castors allow the buffet to be moved for cleaning or reconfiguration, then secured in place without tools. Inside the door, an adjustable shelf slides on vertical runners, letting the operator set the height to fit different items. The worktop is a flat, uninterrupted surface that can be specified in laminated wood, Formica or stainless steel to match the kitchen's existing finishes.
To use the module, the operator unlocks the castors, rolls the unit into position and locks the brakes. The door opens smoothly, the shelf height is adjusted if needed, and items are loaded or unloaded. The worktop above holds trays, utensils or serving equipment while the closed compartment below stores backup supplies. When service ends, the door is closed, the castors unlocked, and the module moved aside for thorough cleaning of the floor beneath.
The structure is built from laminated wood, chosen for its balance of weight and rigidity. The door frame and internal runners are stainless steel, resisting corrosion in humid kitchen environments. The soft-close mechanism is integrated into the hinge assembly, requiring no separate adjustment or maintenance.
Controls are limited to the door handle and the castor brakes. The handle releases the door latch, while the brakes on two castors are pressed down to lock the unit in place.
A weight of 58 kg means the module can be moved by two people without lifting equipment. The footprint of 585 mm by 746 mm fits within standard kitchen aisles, leaving space for staff to pass. The 896 mm height aligns with typical worktop levels, allowing the module to integrate with existing counters or other buffet units.
Cleaning involves wiping the laminated surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The stainless steel parts can be cleaned with standard kitchen sanitising solutions. The castors should be checked periodically for debris that could impede movement, and the soft-close hinges may need occasional lubrication to maintain smooth operation.
The module is available in a range of colours for the laminated finish: silver, rose, saffron, lime, sky, ocean, ivy, sage, cappuccino, clay, grey, Niagara, veined white, white sand, birch, grey fog, elm, walnut, wenge, anthracite and veined black. Optional accessories include a wooden folding dishholder, a stainless steel tube trayholder, a foldable tray slide, reinforced 125 mm castors, contrasting Formica worktops, aluminium-coated PVC feet skirting, custom adhesive stickers and a 45° cut for the worktop edge. A UK plug option is also available for integrated electrical accessories.
The module is categorised as a neutral buffet unit, designed to extend self-service lines in professional catering environments.
