A selector switch directs power between different circuits in a multi-function catering appliance. Instead of separate on-off switches for each heating zone, grill or motor, the operator turns a single knob to route electricity to the chosen element. This design keeps the control panel uncluttered and reduces the risk of accidental activation of the wrong function.
The switch mounts behind the appliance's front panel. Wires from the appliance's main power supply and from each heating or motor circuit connect to numbered terminals on the switch body. When the operator turns the knob, an internal cam moves contacts inside the switch, closing one circuit while opening the others. The chosen function receives power and begins operation; the rest remain off.
To use the switch, the operator first ensures the appliance is connected to the mains. The knob is turned to the desired setting—grill, convection, steam or any other function the appliance offers. The appliance then powers the selected element, and the operator monitors the cooking process as usual. When finished, the knob is returned to the off position, cutting power to all circuits.
The switch is a direct replacement for the Gottak 7LA 840502 used in Abat professional catering equipment. It fits the same mounting hole and terminal layout, allowing straightforward installation without modification to the appliance's wiring or control panel.
Cleaning is limited to the external knob and panel area; the switch itself is not waterproof and should never be sprayed or immersed. Dust and grease on the knob can be wiped with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then dried immediately to prevent moisture reaching the internal contacts.
This selector switch is listed in the catalogue under spare parts for Abat combi ovens, convection ovens and other multi-function catering appliances.
