To use the scale, place it on a flat, stable surface. Press the ON/OFF button to power the unit. Place the item to be weighed onto the platform. The weight will be displayed. The TARE function allows you to zero out the weight of a container, so only the net weight of the contents is measured. Press the TARE button with the container on the scale; the display will show zero, and you can then add your ingredients. The automatic OFF function conserves battery life by powering down the scale after a period of inactivity. A LOW BATTERY indicator will signal when the batteries need replacing.
