A refrigerant refill valve provides the sealed access point that allows a technician to recharge the cooling circuit of an icemaker without breaking the hermetic seal. In commercial icemakers, the refrigerant circulates under pressure, absorbing heat from the water in the evaporator and releasing it at the condenser. Over time, minor leaks or service procedures can deplete the refrigerant charge, reducing cooling efficiency and ice production. The valve is permanently brazed into the circuit and fitted with a Schrader-type core that accepts a standard refrigerant hose; when the hose is connected and the core depressed, the system can be topped up to the correct pressure while the machine remains operational.
To use the valve, the technician first identifies the low-pressure side of the circuit, connects a refrigerant manifold gauge set, and checks the current pressure. The hose from the refrigerant cylinder is then attached to the valve and the core is depressed by the hose fitting. Refrigerant flows into the system until the target pressure is reached, at which point the hose is disconnected and the valve core reseals automatically, restoring the hermetic integrity of the circuit.
The LF refill valve is a brass body with a nickel-plated finish to resist corrosion in the humid environment of an icemaker. A protective cap threads onto the valve to prevent accidental discharge and keep out dust and moisture when the valve is not in use.
This valve fits ICE TECH and ITV icemakers across the full range of production capacities, including under-counter, modular and remote-condenser models. The compatibility list covers ICE TECH CD55, CD90, FD-HD and GR series, and ITV ALFA, DELTA, GALA, IceQueen, PULSAR, SPIKA and SuperStar models, ensuring a single part number serves multiple installations.
In the catalogue, the valve is placed under refrigeration spares, specifically in the refrigerant-circuit components section.
