A pump circulates water over the evaporator plate in an ice maker, building ice layer by layer until the harvest cycle begins. Without a steady flow, the machine cannot form clear, solid cubes or flakes; the water simply freezes in place or drips away. The pump draws water from the reservoir, pushes it up through a distributor and over the cold surface, then returns the excess to the tank for the next cycle. This continuous loop ensures even freezing and consistent ice shape across every batch.
The operator connects the pump to the water inlet and outlet ports on the ice maker, secures the electrical lead to the 230 V supply, and starts the machine. Once running, the pump works automatically, cycling water whenever the compressor is active. No manual adjustment is needed; the flow rate is set by the pump's design to match the ice maker's requirements.
Constructed for continuous use in a commercial environment, the pump is housed in a sealed casing that protects the motor from water ingress. The electrical supply is 230 V, 50/60 Hz, drawing 25 W during normal operation and 29 W at peak load. This low power consumption keeps the running cost minimal while maintaining the necessary flow for ice production.
The pump fits a wide range of Hoshizaki ice makers, including the DIM-30DE-2, IM-21CNE, IM-30CNE, IM-45CNE, IM-45NE, IM-65NE and their variants. Each model relies on the same water circulation principle, so the pump is a direct replacement for the original part.
Cleaning involves disconnecting the pump from the water circuit and wiping the exterior casing to remove any mineral deposits. No internal servicing is required; the sealed design prevents debris from entering the motor or impeller. Regular descaling of the ice maker's water system will prolong the pump's life by reducing scale build-up on the internal components.
This pump is listed in the ice maker spares section of the catalogue, under replacement parts for Hoshizaki equipment.
