Polypropylene GN gastro container HENDI 880609

A polypropylene lid seals GN 1/1 gastronorm containers during storage and transport. The flat cover rests directly on the rim of the container, blocking dust, spills and airborne contaminants while allowing the container to be stacked. Because the lid is rigid and fits the standardised GN 1/1 footprint, it stays in place without clips or ties, so operators can slide containers in and out of cupboards, refrigerators or blast chillers without disturbing the seal. The lid is placed by hand on a clean, dry container rim. Once in position it remains until the container is opened for service or cleaning. No latches or fasteners are required, so the sequence is a single movement: lift the lid, fill or empty the container, replace the lid. The same simplicity applies when stacking: the flat top surface accepts another container or lid without shifting, so multiple layers can be built up in refrigerators or on worktops. Construction is a single sheet of polypropylene, injection-moulded to the 530 × 325 mm GN 1/1 dimensions. The material is chosen for its chemical resistance and low thermal conductivity, which keeps the contents at a more stable temperature during short transfers between kitchen areas. Polypropylene does not corrode, rust or react with acidic or alkaline foods, so the lid remains clean and intact through repeated use. The lid carries no controls; its function is purely mechanical. The temperature range of -40 °C to +80 °C means it can be used in blast chillers, refrigerators, ambient storage and low-temperature ovens without warping or cracking. The 0.38 kg weight allows easy one-handed handling, and the smooth surface gives a secure grip even when wet. The non-porous polypropylene surface lets kitchen staff wipe away grease and food residue with a single cloth pass after each service. The lid is dishwasher-safe, so it can be washed alongside the containers it covers. Because polypropylene does not absorb odours or flavours, it does not need soaking or scrubbing; a standard dishwasher programme removes food residues and sanitises the surface. After washing, the lid is air-dried or wiped with a clean cloth and stored flat or on edge in a dry cupboard.
