A mobile hot cabinet keeps prepared food at serving temperature without steam or condensation. Inside, a heating element warms the air, while a digital thermostat cycles the power to hold the set point. The dry-heat method prevents soggy pastry, keeps sauces from separating and lets plated dishes travel without spills. Because the heat is dry, the cabinet does not need water tanks or drainage, so it can be wheeled anywhere a power socket is available.
The operator loads up to ten GN 1/1 trays or baking tins onto the C-shaped inner guides, closes the single door and sets the temperature on the digital thermostat. A lighting switch turns the interior lamp on or off. Once the thermostat reaches the target, the heating element switches on and off automatically to maintain the temperature. The insulated walls and door gasket reduce heat loss, so the unit stays cool to the touch on the outside while keeping the food inside hot. Four swivel castors—two with brakes—let the cabinet be moved from the kitchen to the pass, into a van or into a tight storage space.
The cabinet is built from AISI 304 stainless steel throughout, including the double-walled body, door and inner guides. The door has a full-height functional handle on each side and a thermic gasket to seal in the heat. Four non-marking bumpers protect walls and worktops from knocks. The heating element is placed inside the cabinet, and the digital thermostat controls the temperature with a simple on-off cycle.
A 0.7 kW power rating means the cabinet draws a modest load, suitable for a standard 230 V single-phase circuit found in most professional kitchens. The 46 kg weight allows two people to move the unit safely when it is empty; the castors take the load once it is in position. The footprint of 545 mm wide by 696 mm deep fits through standard doorways and leaves room for adjacent worktops or trolleys. The 1088 mm height clears most overhead shelves and extractor hoods.
Cleaning is straightforward: the stainless steel interior and guides wipe down with a damp cloth, and the exterior can be sanitised with standard kitchen cleaners. The door gasket should be checked regularly for wear and replaced if it no longer seals tightly. The castors should be kept free of debris to ensure smooth movement.
Optional extras include GN trays, a key lock, a stainless steel grid, a UK-type G plug and a directional, reclosable blowhole for controlled ventilation. GN pans are not included with the cabinet.
