Plate storage, transport and warming trolley FORCAR CA1440

A plate trolley moves hot or cold plates from the wash-up area to the pass or the servery without handling each piece individually. The unit stands on four wheels, two of which lock to hold the trolley in place while staff load or unload. Plates rest on horizontal grids spaced so that the rims do not touch; this keeps the surfaces clean and speeds drying or cooling before the next service.

To use the trolley, unlock the wheels and roll it to the stack of clean plates. Slide each plate onto the grid, starting at the bottom shelf and working upward. Once the trolley is full, lock the wheels, wheel it to the point of service, and unload in reverse order. The handles on either side give a firm grip for pushing or pulling, even when the trolley is fully loaded.

The frame is plastic-coated steel, which resists corrosion and damp in a busy kitchen. The grids are chrome-painted for a smooth, easy-clean surface. Wheels are 125 mm in diameter, large enough to roll over minor floor irregularities without jolting the load.

A capacity of 96 plates means the trolley can hold a full service for a medium-sized restaurant in one trip. The footprint of 60 cm by 60 cm fits through standard kitchen doorways and alongside worktops. The height of 175 cm allows plates to be stored from floor level up to eye level, so staff can reach every shelf without bending or stretching. The weight of 50 kg keeps the trolley stable when loaded but still light enough for one person to move when empty.

Cleaning is straightforward: wipe the grids and frame with a damp cloth and mild detergent after each use. The plastic coating protects the steel from moisture and prevents rust. The wheels should be checked periodically for debris and the brakes tested to ensure they hold securely.
