A pilot jet meters the precise flow of gas to the standing pilot flame that ignites the main burners on professional catering equipment. The small orifice at its tip controls the volume of gas released, ensuring a steady, controlled flame that remains lit even when the appliance is idle. This continuous ignition source eliminates the need for manual lighting each time the equipment is used, allowing immediate operation of burners, grills or fry tops when the gas valve is opened.
The operator simply turns the gas supply on; the pilot jet maintains the flame that will light the main burners when they are called for. No additional steps are required beyond the routine checks that the flame is present and correctly adjusted.
Constructed as a single brass component, the LF pilot jet is machined to the stated orifice diameter. Brass is chosen for its resistance to corrosion and its ability to withstand the repeated heating and cooling cycles of a commercial kitchen.
The single specification given—an orifice diameter of 0.27 mm—determines the gas flow rate and thus the size and stability of the pilot flame. A correctly sized orifice ensures the flame is neither too weak to ignite the main burners nor so large that it wastes gas or creates excessive heat in the pilot assembly.
Cleaning is limited to the external surface; the orifice itself should never be probed or cleaned with wire, as this can alter the diameter and affect performance. A soft brush and compressed air are sufficient to remove any dust or grease that may accumulate around the jet.
This LF pilot jet is a direct replacement for the original part on the listed models from BARON, DEXION, GIGA, HOBART, MARENO, MODULAR, OLIS, SILKO and ZANUSSI gas appliances, including fry tops, grills, solid-top ranges and pasta cookers.
Catalogued as a spare part for gas equipment maintenance.
