A pilot jet meters the precise flow of gas that keeps the standing pilot alight in professional catering equipment. The jet is a small brass orifice drilled to a set diameter; gas passes through it at controlled pressure, producing a steady, compact flame that ignites the main burner when the appliance calls for heat. Without this constant pilot, the burner would rely on repeated spark ignition, which can fail in a busy kitchen environment.

The operator does not interact with the pilot jet directly during normal use. Once installed, it sits behind the control panel or beneath the burner assembly, where the gas line feeds it. When the appliance is commissioned or serviced, the engineer selects the correct jet diameter to match the gas type and the appliance's rated input. The jet is then screwed into its housing, the gas supply is restored, and the pilot is lit. From that point, the pilot remains on, ready to light the main burner whenever the thermostat or control knob demands heat.

This LF PILOT JET SIT is machined from brass and measures ø 0.30 mm. Brass resists corrosion from gas and moisture, ensuring the orifice remains unobstructed over time. The jet is a direct replacement for the original part in the listed models, requiring no modification to the appliance.

The ø 0.30 mm diameter determines the volume of gas that can flow through the jet at a given pressure. A smaller orifice would restrict flow and produce a weak pilot flame; a larger one would allow too much gas, creating a tall, unstable flame that could soot or blow out. The specified diameter matches the design requirements of the appliances it fits, maintaining safe and efficient ignition.

Cleaning is limited to visual inspection during routine maintenance. If the orifice appears blocked by debris or carbon, it should be replaced rather than cleaned, as any alteration to the diameter will affect performance. No other upkeep is required.
