An operation switch controls the sequence of power to multiple circuits in professional catering equipment. It directs current through one of several contacts in a set order, allowing the operator to select different heating zones, fan speeds or cooking programmes without separate dials. The switch turns a single shaft that moves an internal rotor, which closes the chosen circuit while leaving the others open. This method keeps the control panel compact and reduces the number of moving parts exposed to heat and moisture in a busy kitchen environment.
To use the switch, the operator turns the shaft to the desired position marked 0 through 6. Position 0 cuts all power; positions 1 to 6 send current to the corresponding circuit. The switch is mounted behind the control panel, and the shaft protrudes through a hole to accept a knob. The operator sets the knob, watches the equipment respond, and turns the switch again when a different setting is needed.
The switch is built from ceramic, which withstands high temperatures and resists arcing. The shaft measures 6 mm by 4.6 mm in cross-section and extends 23 mm from the body. Connections are made with screw terminals rated for 16 A. The switch provides one normally open and two changeover contacts, allowing it to control both a primary circuit and auxiliary functions such as indicator lights or safety interlocks.
The 16 A switching capacity matches the load of typical catering equipment circuits, ensuring the switch can handle the current without overheating. The 7 operating positions give the operator precise control over multi-stage processes such as gradual heating or timed cooking sequences. The 0.110 kg weight indicates a small, lightweight component that does not add significant load to the equipment.
Cleaning is limited to the external knob; the switch itself is sealed behind the panel and should not be exposed to water or cleaning agents. The ceramic body and screw connections require no maintenance beyond ensuring the terminals remain tight.
The switch is a spare part for professional catering equipment that uses a 7-position control sequence.
